Collab with Palaeorigamipete. Made with Sculptris, Sumopaint and Paint (Windows 7).
Scandinavia, 125 million years into the future. Below the water surface is an equally beautiful world as above. Through the shallow water the sunlight penetrates and gives us a good look at an unrecognizable, yet peaceful world. In one instant we see a shadow gliding in the depts of the fjord. Again... Suddenly a dolphin like creature shoots out of the darker waters in the distance and swims right over our heads, followed by another one, checking out the lakebed for potential food. If this is what our future is going to look like, we can relax and be sure that the times to come are only gonna get better...
In the far future the Island of Scandinavia will drift off from Europe. It'll still be cold, however, the cold is less intense. Scandinavia has still kept it's fjords, which have grown to be enormous lakes in some occasions. They are home to an incredible variety in fauna, but most noticably are the chevrotain-dolphins. Here depicted is the Scandinavian beaked chevrotain-dolphin [link] , named after it's sensitive lips, which give it an appearance as if it has a beak.
This collab was done with Palaeorigmipete, with whom I started a project called the Neozoic project: [link] . He made the chevrotain-dolphins in Sculptis while I made the environment and added the lightfall on the chevrotain-dolphins. It was great to cooperate with him so far and we're hoping to do more on the project and possibly more collabs in the time to come. I suggest you take a look at his gallery [link] as he has also made a lot of fantastic illustrations of various species of chevrotain dolphins. We hope you guys like this collab and we'd like to hear your opinions, thoughts, suggestions and feedback on it. Do you guys think we should do more collabs? Please let us know in the comments. Regards!
P.S. If you like this, become a member (request is automatically approved) of the Neozoic-Project-group, to see more of this appear in the future, or even design your own Neozoic creatures and submit to the group! [link]
Of course there are many variations! I think it's a very good concept as well! If you think it's fun I invite you to make a drawing of your version! The group will certainly appreciate it!
BTW an animal is interesting.
I'm glad you like it!
